Sports & Recreation in the Park

Frisbee? Hockey? Baseball? Slides? Nature Walk? Horseshoes? Yoga? Meditation? Jogging? Bocce Ball? Photography? Bird watching? You can do all of these things and more at the 1889 Park! These activities are free and open to the public.

Walking & Exercise Trails

Learning about local flora and fauna? Afternoon hike? Our trails provide all this and more.  Our Stream Trail runs along our beautiful river's edge with markers to designate various tree species. Our Exercise Trail features hurdles, stretching bars, and monkey bars to increase your endurance and stamina. Be on the lookout for the beaver dam too!

Children's Playgrounds

The 1889 Park features two playgrounds, one across from the baseball/softball field, and the other next to Pavilion 3. The playground structures include slides, steps, pull bars, and lookouts.

Ball Fields, Skating Rink, Volleyball, Horseshoe Pits & Bocce Ball Courts

Let's go out to the ball game! Have a game or two of baseball or softball on our field, or simply play catch on the green. Our paved roller rink is great for hockey or skating. Or if you prefer, near each pavilion are horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, and Bocce Ball courts to test your throwing abilities with your friends. We also have generous open grass spaces to bask in the sunshine or enjoy a game of Frisbee.
