The Coal Miner's Memorial & Museum and Disaster's Edge Education Center provide informational and educational resources on the region's history and wildlife.

Coal Miner's Memorial & Museum

Coal mining is a way of life in the Allegheny region. The 1889 Park hosts vintage coal hauling cars, and a museum with various displays for visitors. There is also a memorial tree park dedicated to local coal miner's and their families. The museum is only open limited hours, so please be sure to check for availability at 814-262-9682 or contact us via email.

Disaster's Edge Environmental Education Resource & Development Center

The Cambria County Conservation District hosts a variety of programs at "Disaster's Edge" with the goal of educating youth and the general population. The center provides programming on local ecosystems, wildlife, endangered species and plant life, watersheds, wetlands, pest management, tracking and animal identification, ecology, and agriculture.
